1st Works Announces hotComm 6.5 of its hotComm Real-Time Conferencing, Collaboration and Content Delivery Platform

Offers improved File Sharing and optional recording directly into Windows Media format

BOSTON, MA, December 1, 2006 – 1stWorks, a real-time interactive communications software company with solutions for secure collaboration, multimedia content delivery, conferencing and broadcasting, incorporating its recently patented data compression technology, today announced the latest version of its hotComm on-demand desktop conferencing and collaboration platform.

hotComm 6.5 delivers improved ease of use in secure File Sharing, supporting more Windows centric operational features to extend the collaborative capabilities of hotComm.

hotComm 6.5 also offers the option for recording directly in Windows Media Video format (WMV) in addition to our continued support for the earlier proprietary hotComm recording format. The immediate advantage of Windows Media Video format is to allow playback through any Windows Media format compatible player You can record audio and any visuals you see in the hotCam window or you can record the full screen of your primary monitor, including the hotPointer. This technique uses the Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 9.0, which is an optional download during the hotComm Standard/Professional install. Support for hotComm’s own proprietary format is continued for those who prefer its substantially more efficient usage of storage space and who can accept its replay requirement for a hotComm client.

"This latest version of hotComm represents our continuing commitment to listen to our customers and respond to their evolving needs," said Nigel Spicer, president of 1stWorks. "hotComm’s rich feature set has been built to deliver the level of real-time multimedia communications, secure connections, scalability and instant accessibility necessary to users in today’s high-velocity world. Improved real-time information sharing is increasingly critical to companies as they expand both nationally and globally.
